Baby cloth book - To the circus

I was so happy when today the fabric for making a baby cloth book was delivered. I designed this for a spoonflower contest. If you like you can still vote for it!
I'll soon will make the bib and plushie too, unfortunately i'm too busy at the moment for that.

I immediately started sewing :) It's very simple to make. Here are some pics on how to make it!

 

Cutting the fabric

6 pieces of fabric

I ironed on some fusible fleece (pellon 987F) on the back of the fabric on 3 pieces

The fusible fleece was a little smaller; so the edges of the book will not become to thick

Sew around and leave a little space open to turn the fabric

Cut the corners of the seam

Turn the fabric

Optional; add a ribbon

Three pieces are ready to become a book...

Sew the pieces to each other...it's a real book now!!!

Close the gaps by sewing with needle and thread

Tadaaaa...here it is...we're off to the circus!

Juno Roos

 

Hooray!! This weekend we went visiting Juno Roos! A new born litlle girl from our motorcycle friends Marcel & Eva. What a lovely tiny baby Juno is! This is the birthcard i made for her. On request of her parents: with their parrot, skulls and roses ;-)  And ofcourse i couldn't resist making a lovely skirt and plushie musicbox toy with the girly skull pattern i designed for them.

Apple tree pinafore!

Here it is; a pinafore with the appletree design. I sewed it a couple days ago to see if the pattern is ok. After trying it on my daughter i adjusted the pattern shape. I still need to try it on a bigger girl, but i think it will fit to a 3 year old too. First it's a dress...then it can be worn as a tunic or top.
And it's reversible too :-)

Damian!

My sister has given birth to her 3 child; a boy! And his name is Damian.
I'm so happy and proud of him :-) Welcome little Damian! It's great to have you in the family :-)

Not only i had the honour to design his birthcard. I also designed the wallpaper in his room! And more lovely things...

Why's

My 'tea time' baby boots, spoon and biscuit pillow where used in a photoshoot for a dutch magazine 'Why's, in de kraamtijd'. What a lovely babies :)
