Baby cloth book - To the circus

I was so happy when today the fabric for making a baby cloth book was delivered. I designed this for a spoonflower contest. If you like you can still vote for it!
I'll soon will make the bib and plushie too, unfortunately i'm too busy at the moment for that.

I immediately started sewing :) It's very simple to make. Here are some pics on how to make it!

 

Cutting the fabric

6 pieces of fabric

I ironed on some fusible fleece (pellon 987F) on the back of the fabric on 3 pieces

The fusible fleece was a little smaller; so the edges of the book will not become to thick

Sew around and leave a little space open to turn the fabric

Cut the corners of the seam

Turn the fabric

Optional; add a ribbon

Three pieces are ready to become a book...

Sew the pieces to each other...it's a real book now!!!

Close the gaps by sewing with needle and thread

Tadaaaa...here it is...we're off to the circus!

Sint boekjes voor HEMA

  

Hooray! I finally see the result of these little books! Made by me during summer :D The 'Sinterklaas' character already existed; so i had to make te books with this character. It was a great job to do, because it's for a big Dutch shop 'Hema'. So they will make a lot of Dutch children happy...i hope!
Unfortunately my name is not on the book :( ...but now you know who made these illustrations.

Joepie! Daar zijn ze dan de Hema sinterklaasboekjes...door mij getekend afgelopen voorjaar/zomer toen het heel mooi weer was :D Het sintfiguurtje was al ontwikkeld door Hema. De opdracht was dan ook het boekje in deze stijl verder te maken. Aangezien de stijl erg aansluit op mijn stijl was dat niet zo'n probleem. Ik ben erg blij met het resultaat...alleen stiekem toch een beetje verdrietig dat mijn naam niet vermeld wordt. Maar via deze blog nu toch bekend aan jullie wie de tekenaar is van deze grappige plaatjes :)
