Baby cloth book - To the circus

I was so happy when today the fabric for making a baby cloth book was delivered. I designed this for a spoonflower contest. If you like you can still vote for it!
I'll soon will make the bib and plushie too, unfortunately i'm too busy at the moment for that.

I immediately started sewing :) It's very simple to make. Here are some pics on how to make it!

 

Cutting the fabric

6 pieces of fabric

I ironed on some fusible fleece (pellon 987F) on the back of the fabric on 3 pieces

The fusible fleece was a little smaller; so the edges of the book will not become to thick

Sew around and leave a little space open to turn the fabric

Cut the corners of the seam

Turn the fabric

Optional; add a ribbon

Three pieces are ready to become a book...

Sew the pieces to each other...it's a real book now!!!

Close the gaps by sewing with needle and thread

Tadaaaa...here it is...we're off to the circus!

Furoshiki and free gift tags!

 

 

 

 I designed some gift tags matching the christmascards and fabric with the vintage christmasballs and snowman. You can download it for free here or at my flickr and use it for your presents.
The tags are only for personal use!

These presents are being wraped with a square piece of fabric called Furoshiki. Furoshiki is originating from Japanese culture and it's a eco-friendly way to wrap your christmaspresents! There are all kinds of knots to wrap your presents. You can even fold a bag or clothing :)

The fabric is also available at Spoonflower. A fat quarter is perfect to make a furoshiki of 45 x 45 cm.
Cut the fabric, make a small seam an wrap your presents like this!

The fabric and tags match with the christmas cards. Which you can find in my shop or etsy.

Boardgame, TeaTowel & 2012 Calendar in one!

Woohoo...here's another fabric design that ended top 10 at Spoonflowers 'Tea Towel Calendar 2012' contest! Thanks for all the votes and lovely comments :) This was so much fun to make. Except for placing all those numbers :( Can't wait to recieve the fabric and sew the dice and pawns! And maybe a cute bag to carry this on vacation. It will be fun to play with my 4 year old son...who loves boardgames!

And i almost forgot to mention; today there are no shipping costs at Spoonflower :)

Christmas cards and fabric

 

Mijn kerstkaarten zijn binnen! Ik ben er erg blij mee. Ze zijn gedrukt op 300 grams FSC natuurkarton en worden geleverd met witte envelop. In de binnenkant staat de tekst 'merry christmas and a happy new year' De kerstkaarten zijn te koop in mijn shop. En om dit te vieren reken ik deze week (t/m zondag 20 november 2011) geen verzendkosten op alle artikelen in heel europa!

Als je het kerstballen patroon op de achterkant van de kaarten leuk vind. Deze is te koop op spoonflower als stof! Leuk als kerstjurkje, wanten/mutsen of om je cadeautjes mee in te pakken!


My new christmas cards arrived this week. I am very pleased! The cards are printed on FSC environment friendly paper. Inside text is 'merry christmas and a happy new year'.
To celebrate this i desided to calculate no shiping costs in my shop for the Netherlands and Europe.

I finally started sewing the Kawaii Kitchen plushie toys. This is a cut&sew fabric i designed a couple of weeks ago for a plushie contest on Spoonflower. This was nr 1! Again thanks a lot for the votes :D
This is just one fat quarter of a yard full of kitchen toys...so there's more to come.

A new funny collection for a Spoonflower design contest 'bowling'. Never though i could make a bowling fabric...hahaha. I really don't know a thing about bowling. But after reading all those funny terms on wikipedia i really was inspired! You can check the collection on Spoonflower.com.

Coffee rings are fun!

 

My newest design on Spoonflower made for the upcoming contest 'coffee'.
No worry about coffee stains on your tablecloth anymore with this fabric. It will only add some more color to the fabric! And if you get remarks about it: You can blame me and say the designer meant it to be that way...haha ;-)

I'm working on 2 new characters for a school of English in Spain called 'Peekaboo'. That reminded me i haven't shown the characters and photo's on my blog before. So here it is! It really is great to see the characters on the building :-) Thanks Aysa for this lovely job!

Ik ben druk in de weer met 2 nieuwe karakters voor een Spaanse school voor Engelse taal genaamd 'peekaboo'. Ik bedacht me dat ik nog niet alle poppetjes en de foto van het gebouw had laten zien op mijn blog. Binnenkort volgen de 2 nieuwe karakters!
