Ottobre made this tunic with my 'Appletree' fabric design. The girl looks so lovely!

Tractor fabric

I would have never though i could sew boys underwear. But as soon as i saw the pattern of Van Katoen I really wanted to try it with one of my jersey fabrics from lillestoff. And my son loves it!!!
The fabric will be available in my shop and etsy next week!

Cologne

 So much fun stuff is happening and i can't find time to make blogs about it...sorry for that :) But here's a little story about my trip to Cologne (Germany) a couple of weeks ago ...
It was a very cool city trip with a lot of walking, searching for roads, looking at beautifull old buildings, hurting feets :( and a good sun that was shining :)

We stayed in a hotel which used to be a water tower!

I was so impressed by all the locks tight to the bridge by married couples! The keys are in the water:) The colors and the metal was so beautiful in sunlight!

We went to H&H trade to meet Daniele Gencalp from Lillestoff. It was very very nice meeting her and Anne from Gretelies. And ofcourse it was fun to see my designs (also a lot of new designs!!!!) at the Lillestoff stand.

New fabric: Green Tractors!!!

The green tractor fabric is on its way...so next week it's available in my shop :)
And not only the tractor, there's more to come: Little Red Riding Hood and matching ribbons!!!

Appletree fabric

Remember the sew&cut skirt i designed for a Spoonflower contest? Well this fabric design is based on that design. Lillestoff liked the design and asked me to make an all over pattern with the tree. I'm happy with how the fabric turned out. The colors are bright and the quality of the organic jersey fabric is perfect! And ofcourse i sewed my little girl an outfit. The patterns for the tunic and the trousers came from an Ottobre magazine.

I sewed on the trousers a little piece of the ribbon as a label. That was so easy, but it looks so lovely :) The owl ribbon is also available in a offwhite color.

 

And for a new litlle baby niece called Milou i sewed this sleeping bag.

Bora fabric buttons

I've made a new serie of fabric buttons; owls, mustage, little red riding hood and bears love fish.

My winning spoonflower fabric design published in a Delft newspaper! I did a short interview about spoonflower, the delft design and my job as a designer. I hope the people from Delft also like the design as much as the spoonflower voters :)

 Hoooray! My newest fabric design on Spoonflower won the cityscape contest!!! I'm so surprised and happy. Delft is the town i grew up; so for me it had to be a Delft design...choosing a colorpalete for the design had never been so easy :) Thanks to all who voted for my design!

Little Forest Bunting & Giveaway

My little forest bunting design is produced by Lillestoff too! The quality of the organic cotton is really beautiful! On one meter there are 36 flags shapes to make 18 flags! I made a cute package including the fabric, instructions how to make, 8 meter natural cotton biastape, a woven BORA label and a fridge magnet. Soon available in my shop. Baby cloth book - To the circus

I was so happy when today the fabric for making a baby cloth book was delivered. I designed this for a spoonflower contest. If you like you can still vote for it!
I'll soon will make the bib and plushie too, unfortunately i'm too busy at the moment for that.

I immediately started sewing :) It's very simple to make. Here are some pics on how to make it!

 

Cutting the fabric

6 pieces of fabric

I ironed on some fusible fleece (pellon 987F) on the back of the fabric on 3 pieces

The fusible fleece was a little smaller; so the edges of the book will not become to thick

Sew around and leave a little space open to turn the fabric

Cut the corners of the seam

Turn the fabric

Optional; add a ribbon

Three pieces are ready to become a book...

Sew the pieces to each other...it's a real book now!!!

Close the gaps by sewing with needle and thread

Tadaaaa...here it is...we're off to the circus!

Little Forest fabrics are available!

Last week 'the Little Forest fabrics' from Lillestoff arrived. I'm so happy with the quality and colors! It's amazing. These jersey fabrics are made of organic cotton and 5% elasthan. The mushrooms, brown forest, little forest and ribbons are all available in my shop and for international buyers on Etsy.

For my little girl Leonora i sewed a jacket with the forest fabrics. The outside i made off ribcord fabric and added a fleece layer that i ironed on. The pattern for the jacket i found in Ottobre autumn 4/2010. (the mittens and beanie i made with my own pattern) It was a so special to make this for Leonora. A year ago i designed these patterns to decorate her room...and now she's a one year old wearing a jacket with the same patterns :D

Boardgame, TeaTowel & 2012 Calendar in one!

Woohoo...here's another fabric design that ended top 10 at Spoonflowers 'Tea Towel Calendar 2012' contest! Thanks for all the votes and lovely comments :) This was so much fun to make. Except for placing all those numbers :( Can't wait to recieve the fabric and sew the dice and pawns! And maybe a cute bag to carry this on vacation. It will be fun to play with my 4 year old son...who loves boardgames!

And i almost forgot to mention; today there are no shipping costs at Spoonflower :)

Bears love fish fabric...and give away!
